EMBSA gives thanks to our 2023 Sponsors:
Thanks to High Grade Auto Body's excellent craftsmanship and generosity in donating their creativity, time, materials, and labor to restore the entire body and windshield, our old electric cart now has the "just out of the showroom" look. We are now once again able to transport those that need assistance in getting to the fields. High Grade’s amazing baseball-theme seat cushions add a special touch to the renovation for any baseball and softball fan.
Hi-Tech Signs was also generous enough to donate its creative skills in doing outstanding, graphic-designed, decorative sign work for the cart. In addition, Dan Ratkewitch's All State Insurance Agency's generous donation enabled us to replace the six, expensive, specialized batteries.
East Meadow Little League and Baseball/Softball Association gives special thanks to these generous local sponsors and to all of our sponsors. Their generosity enables our ALL VOLUNTEER organization to keep our expenses low so the children of East Meadow can play ball at the lowest cost possible. PLEASE SUPPORT ALL OF OUR EAST MEADOW SPONSORS!!!!!

2024 EMBSA Coaches Clinic
Hosted by Tom Abruscato
On Thursday, 3/21/24, Tom Abruscato, an East Meadow Clarke High School Baseball coach, volunteered his time to run a free coaches clinic for East Meadow Baseball Softball Association. EMBSA recognizes it is an organization of parent volunteers and wants to help develop all the coaches. Tom offered tips and techniques ranging from hitting off the tee, fielding, running a batting practice, to name a few. EMBSA thanks Tom for his time! Everyone can see him down at our Complex over the summer when he hosts his summer baseball and softball camps (see Summer Camps under Main Menu).
2024 East Meadow Baseball Travel Dinner
The Baseball Travel Dinner honoring the 2023 travel players was held on Tuesday 3/12/24 at The Heritage Club. Special thanks to Mike Catalano, Paxton Provitera, Mike Dantuono and Richie Krug for their role in making the memorable night possible and FUN for ALL! EMBSA thanks the Baseball Board, coaches, players and parents!
Letter from Commissioner Stephen LaSala
3/7/2024
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I welcome you to another baseball/softball season in East Meadow. For those returning, welcome back! For those new families, we are glad you joined! Our goal is for your child to have a fun experience, make new friends, and learn fundamentals and sportsmanship.
As general information, we will be having Complex opening day on Saturday, March 30th. All are welcome to help us get the Complex ready to start the season. Just a few hours Saturday will ensure the Complex is ready to start. Our goal is to start our season the week of April 8th with our younger players possibly starting a little later when the weather is warmer. Our League wide schedule will be posted on our website: EMBSA.net
Our Banner Parade this year is scheduled for Saturday April 13th, pending Nassau County Police approving our parade permit. As always, we will be gathering at the Veterans Pool on Prospect Ave at 9:00 AM to march to our Complex. Please have your child in full uniform to march carrying their banner with the name of their sponsor.
This year we have changed our photographers to Thunder Sports Photographer. Some of you may know them as they are the photographers at Woodland MS and have added EMHS this year. Picture weekend has been scheduled for Saturday May 4th and Sunday May 5th Once the photo schedule has been finalized, your child’s team manager will be given the specifics as to what day and time. The schedule will also be posted on our homepage.
As some of you may or may not know, our Complex is maintained solely by volunteers, everything from picking up garbage, cleaning bathrooms, repairs, to grooming the fields. All help would be appreciated in keeping East Meadow as the best Complex on Long Island. We are always looking for volunteers, not only to coach or manage but those who can offer various other skills to help keep costs down in running the Association.
As a reminder, parking/driving as well as Smoking (of any form) on our Complex is forbidden. There are parking lots located next to Challenger and Gaglione Fields. Also, NO DOGS ALLOWED on our Complex – signs are posted throughout the Complex. We love our furry family members, but please keep them safe at home.
Some of you may have noticed, there was an increase in this year’s registration fees. With the cost of equipment, supplies, vehicle maintenance and insurance going up, we needed to off set some of the increases. Our Board came up with an interesting solution; with the added increase of $50.00 to each player registration, EMBSA will give you $50.00 worth of raffle tickets to sell. When you sell the tickets, keep the money, and return the stubs for a chance to win cash prizes. The date of the drawings will be announced at a later time.
For those who wish to get more involved or more informed, we invite you to our various League monthly meetings:
Mini League/Kick Ball is open to boys and girls league ages 3-6 and has meetings on the second Monday of every month at 8:00 PM.
Senior League is open to boys league ages 13 and up and has meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 8:00 PM.
Little League is open to boys league ages 7-12 and has meetings on the second Wednesday of every month at 8:00 PM.
Girls Softball is open to girls league ages 5-17 and has meetings on the second Thursday of every month at 8:00 PM.
Challenger League is open to boys and a girl ages 5 and up and has meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM.
We look forward to seeing you on the Complex and hope you have a joyous and exciting season.
Regards,
Stephen La Sala
Commissioner
East Meadow Baseball Softball Association

Hello Everyone,
Our Parade Day is Saturday, April 13, 2024. All players marching should arrive at Prospect Veterans Memorial Park (1700 Prospect Avenue, East Meadow NY 11554) between 9:15am and 9:30am. Leading the Parade is The American Legion Post 1802 Color Guard and the East Meadow Fire Department Pipes and Drum Band.
The Parade is scheduled to leave Prospect Park at 10:00am with Commissioner Steve LaSala judging team banners for the Banner Contest. The Parade will follow the normal route, leaving Prospect Park and going north on East Meadow Avenue, west on Front Street, north on Merrick Avenue, going through the Meadows complex and entering the field Complex through the parking lot of 90 Merrick Avenue.
We advise everyone to make arrangements to either carpool back to Prospect Park or leave a car parked at 90 Merrick Avenue before the parade and carpool over to Prospect Park.
Teams will line up in age group order with Tee Ball / Ponytails behind Challenger Division leading the Parade. Be sure to have your team banner and show our appreciation to our community Sponsors!
At the conclusion of our march to the Complex, our local politicians will be there to greet us. Please be sure to assemble together and give them a warm welcome.
The EMBSA Snackbar will be selling BBQ hamburgers and hotdogs.
BACK FOR 2024... EMBSA is bringing back the inflatable bouncers to our Complex!! We are hoping to make Parade Day a fun filled day for all!!
Coaches: After the team banners have been judged by Commissioner LaSala at the Complex, be sure to take them back when you leave as you'll need it for Picture Day - PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THEM HUNG ON THE FENCES.
Many thanks to all the volunteers in making this event possible.

Things to know about your spring intramural registration:
- The Spring 2024 season is expected to start late March / early April, with the younger divisions (Kickball, Tball and Ponytails) to start later in April when the weather is warmer for the little ones. Specific start dates are TBD. The season generally ends early June.
- Divisions that draft teams (boys and girls 9U+) will occur in early March, while all other rosters formed by end of March.
- Team schedule will be finalized shortly after registration ends as we will learn how many teams there will be. Schedule will be communicated by the team coaches. Practices are determined by each teams' coaches.
- Do not delay to register. The sooner we know how many registered players there are for each division, the sooner we can determine the number of teams and create the schedule.
- Once teams have been finalized, team coach will reach out to welcome you, generally via email. This will occur around last week of March / early April (a week later for the younger divisions as they start later). Be sure to check Junk folder as your email provider may direct it there.
- Player uniforms for spring includes hat, shirt, pants and socks for the boys; shirt, pants and headband for the girls. Kickball receives a kickball shirt. Player uniforms are handed out by the team coaches.
- EMBSA gladly welcomes volunteers to help coach a team. If you are not sure your schedule is conducive to coaching a team, note that in your registration or speak to the respective League Director where they can pair you together with another coach to help run the team. Note that shortage of team coaches delays the start of the season and may cause overcrowding of team rosters.
